-OK, I want to get this off my chest right away, I sat on the US war against Iraq fence for awhile, I listened to the arguments and tried to figure out the relative truth of this grave situation. At heart I'm a dove, I feel this war to be unjust and avoidable. It could be that this posturing of the Bush administration is needed to remove the threat to first Israel, second the free world from the Iraq/Saddam regime. It is also possible that there is no posturing, it is a bloody war that is bound to be set off in the near future by the oil interests in the region.
Violence is the last refuge of the uncreative. My suggestion is to win with intelligence and diplomacy. Right after 9/11 I felt this was time for new dawn of spycraft, the days of carpet bombing and massive troop movements to end.
A little less bomb building and more education building. Stop ratling the sabre, and move on using our heads instead of our fists.

It was a cold February day, but about one hundred thousand marched in NYC to protest US war against Iraq near the United Nations. Controversy was sparked by Bloomberg not allowing the protesters to march directly on the UN, but the protesters did get close, within a few blocks.
Overall it was a peacefull peace demonstration, the NYPD while looking intimidating, was professional in terms of crowd controll. I think the messages got across, since planet wide public support for this war has waned.
